Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design and write cutting-edge backend services for our products by using modern and open-source technologies.
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle from initial build to production optimization.
Consistently perform code and design review to ensure deliverables are aligned with agreed scope and maintain high development standard.
Work closely with teams to understand the integration points of existing managed solutions.
Conceive, analyze, design, build and maintain scalable and high-performance system with clean, maintainable codes.
Design high-volume, low-latency APIs for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
Produce software solutions ensuring alignment to business requirements, business processes and best practices for effective software development.
Communicate with all teams such as Back-end Development, Design, Product Development, Engineer Team etc to ensure the success of each development sprints.
Engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis tuning and optimization.
Support and deploy backend services, scaling back-end services and performing root-cause analysis investigations.
Debug and modify complex software and related systems.
Conduct R&D and improve software quality using agile practices such as code review, unit testing and integration testing etc.
Act as a team enabler, continuously motivate and mentor the team members for better improvement.
Any ad-hoc task assigned by the Management from time to time.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Knowledge:

Possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent.

Skills:

Able to communicate with people at all levels including technical and non-technical audiences.
Good command of verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills, ability to think critically system growth and stability.
Highly motivated, result oriented and open mindset.
Strong attention to detail on every line of code, every unit test and every commit message.
Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
Strong understanding of system performance and scaling.
Have good understanding of distributed systems and network protocols.
Possess a good understanding on the popular framework eg. Spring, Play Framework or Go-Kit, grpc-grateway will be an additional advantage.

Experience:

With 3 years’ experience in Full Stack position.
Candidates without full stack experience are welcome to apply.
Familiar with AWS.
Experience in writing good unit tests.
Experience with JavaScript or Go will be an additional advantage.
Familiar with Cloud service providers: AWS, Google Cloud will be a plus.
Familiar with Elastic Search, MySQL, Redis, Terraform, Docker, Gitlab, Jenkins will be an additional advantage.
