Job Description
-
To lead and oversee our firm’s overall accounting function and to ensure all accounting processes are performed efficiently including dealing with diverse pool of clients (approximately 80 – 100 clients presently and is still expanding), supporting firm job planning activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations among all employees.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly Management Accounts and Financial Reporting and ensure deliverables are in accordance with client’s agreed timeline.
- Review Sales and Services Tax Return (“SST”) and ensure submission and payment to Royal Malaysian Customs Department on time.
- Maintain an up-to-date and quality deliverable for clients and Firm’s accounts and SST.
- Conduct weekly meeting with team on job progress and coordinate deadline with audit and tax team.
- Provide weekly progress report to the Management.
- Promptly update and discuss with the Management on issues with suggested solutions.
- Provide accurate advice to clients and Management after thorough research and supported with legislative rules and regulations.
- Drafting, implementation and monitoring of the operational procedures/systems.
- Monitor and ensure monthly targeted revenue for accounting department is achieved.
- Provide add-value services to client highlighting improvement ideas, analytical review on Management Accounts, etc.
- Establish good client relationships through positive interactions with the client’s team and achieve high customer satisfaction levels.
- Coaching, supervising and support the technical and soft skills development of the team
- Identify knowledge gap of the team, provide internal training to team and identify relevant training/courses for team to attend.
- Identify team issues and make proposals to align with Firm’s process and continuous improvements to achieve the Firm’s goals and objectives.
- Provide external training to public and clients.
- Publish newsletter / posting through the firm’s social media platform to promote the firm’s brand awareness.
- Communicate with clients, follow up on outstanding matters & bills.
- Business development – actively promote firm’s professional services, get involve in meeting new prospect, preparing quotation / tender documents, fees negotiation, sales leads follow up, closing deal, etc.
- Assist in any ad hoc assignments as assigned by Management.
Requirements

- Candidate with prior experience in similar industry will be an added advantage.
- Possesses finance/accounting degree or professional equivalent certification (ACCA/CA).
- Strong technical knowledge in accounting and SST.
- Familiar with various accounting softwares, eg Xero, Autocount, SQL, Quickbooks and etc.
- Minimum 3-5 years of managerial experiences.
- Responsible, good in planning, coordination and deadline management.
- Ability to work in a global, dynamic, fast moving and demanding environment.
- Possess a strategic mind set with high level of integrity, ethics and results driven.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent participatory management skills, effective team-builder with high accountability for his/her actions.
- Required language: English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.
