Job Description


Purpose of the position

  • Responsible for functional oversight of the safe design, costing, planning, proposal, safe execution of customer medical gas supply and equipment. This may include any equipment and accessories which related to medical industry
  • Responsible for working with the Healthcare Sales Team to deliver country MES objectives with a focus of safety, efficiency and compliance to internal policies, practices and local regulations
  • Ensure that each and every medical installation projects is designed according to the standard best practices with safety and reliability as utmost priority
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization in project design, work processes and people capabilities to maximize business profits

Principal responsibilities

  • Instils the importance of safety in every staff and achieve zero accident in area of responsibility, and be the visible leader in driving the safety culture in the division
  • Plan, organize, implement and control the activities of the operations in the Medical Engineering Services (MES) in line with the company’s established set values, goals and objectives, safety and quality policies and standards
  • Ensure MES projects for medical customers and installations across country are designed at the most competitive cost while ensuring safety and reliability of the assets Champion standardization of design and practices for MES installations
  • Ensure all MES installation are in compliance to safety directives from design perspective. Ensure design agenda continue to focus on continuous improvement in cost and efficiency
  • Authorized Person (AP) for medical devices
  • In collaboration with Local Procurement, to develop and qualify critical local vendors/suppliers for locally procured equipment/services
  • Set relevant targets and KPls for design team
  • Monitor performance based on the above targets and KPls.
  • Ensure the implementation of Best Practices
  • Plans, promotes and leads the productivity improvement programs in the medical engineering services activities
  • Promote, lead and coordinate the effective implementation of environmental program and ensure the 7 000/o buy in and compliance from every staff in MES
  • Support implementation and compliance of Quality, Safety and values of the company
  • Ensure effective implementation of the division’s annual plan
  • Aspire to achieve best practice performance in areas of customer technical service, safety, quality, technology and innovation so as to create a competitive advantage in these areas
  • Develop technical core competencies among team member that will ensure use of competitive advantage
  • Ensure the optimization of the current facilities capacities and timely installation of needed facilities at the customer sites
  • Ensure the reliability and availability of the facilities available to meet highest customer satisfaction
  • Asset Management: procurement of MES related_ E:quipment with Supply Management and MES asset acquisition and disposal
  • Manage MES Operating Costs. Analyze MES costs to budget to maintain a cost effective MES operation
  • Ensure that all the capital expenditures are budgeted within every fiscal year as required
  • Ensure compliance of all facilities to nation as well as logical legislative and our requirements
  • Provide an environment where every employee is willing to contribute to the success of the company and commits and practices the set of values of the company and ensure utmost satisfaction of the customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Training and development of high potential staff to have an effective succession plan
  • Ensure access to the technology of the company and its dissemination and application internally
  • Win new contract or jobs by providing technical support to the Healthcare sales representative for MES saleable projects
  • Collaborate with SHEQ personnel in order to address, administer, and implement related safety agenda in terms of project management.

  • Sound understanding of companies and relevant National & International codes and standards
  • Sound understanding of Local statutory regulations (eg. operating licensing, labor laws etc.) Background in implementation of Work processes
  • Understanding of budgeting and investment planning

Required qualifications/experience

  • Bachelors/Masters in Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ experience with managerial position in the fields of operation and maintenance of chemical, industrial gases or manufacturing set-up
  • Projects related experience
